This slide show was used as a presentation I did with a few colleagues at Berlitz on Motivating Employees. SMART goals are meant to be Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time-bound. When managing employees, it is key to celebrate successes and work together on the areas that need improvement. Those can easily be measured by setting up SMART goals. As it is described by Barton, "Goals serve as
an internal source of motivation and commitment and
provide a guide to action as well as a means of measuring
performance" (2000).
